Fresh headshots that truly look like you. Relaxed shoots designed to get you at your focused best. When you are called in for auditions, the casting director wants to meet the person they have seen in your shots: this is what I give my clients.
You. At your best.

That perfect shot can be the difference between no jobs and dream jobs.
Your session will be relaxed and focused, during which I'll take 300+ photographs.

There is nothing like an empty stare to undersell you as an actor. That is why I keep your mind busy throughout with thought exercises designed to put that little 'something' into your eyes.

FAQs
-
How does a shoot go?When you arrive, we'll grab a hot drink and have a chat about you: your casting, your current shots (if you have them) and what you like/dislike about them and what sort of parts you want to be seen for. We'll then spend the next two to three hours switching backgrounds, body position, light sources to get you a wide variety of shots showing you at your best. You can change your look as many times as you want, but it's normally best to allow at least 20-30 minutes per 'look' to let you and me settle into the nature of it.
-
What happens after the shoot? The very same day you, your agent and/or anyone you would like to get advice from will be sent a link to your online gallery of all of the shots taken. In your gallery you'll be able to review, compare and favourite the shots you would like retouching. Once I have received your choices and payment has been received in full, you will receive your final retouched headshots within 3 working days. Each chosen image is delivered in the industry standard 10"x 8" ratio, in both Colour and Black & White as well as in Low and High Resolution formats. Any specific technical requirements? Let me know ahead of the shoot and I'll make it so.
-
Do you do CDs or Prints?I go full millenial on this one and deliver your shots via the cloud. Safe, secure and instant, your images will be ready to download within seconds of them being retouched. If you require a CD of your shots, let me know ahead of the shoot and I'll take care of that for you for a small fee of £10 per disc. Prints not available. Although of course the files I send you will be suitable for high quality printing. I'd always recommend www.visualeyes.co.uk for actor headshot prints, they know what they are doing.
-
Do you do discounts?Students, any actors returning to me for another shoot and group bookings receive discounts on their packages. See the pricing section above for details. CANCELLATION SLOTS Occassionally, I have cancellations and will offer these slots out to subscribers of my newsletter for a heavily discounted price of £150. See above for more and be sure to tick 'actor headshots' when asked what deals you're interested in hearing about.
-
How do I pay?A £45 deposit is required to secure your booking and must be paid at least 7 days before the date of your shoot. The remaining balance for your package is payable by cash or online transfer on the day of the shoot. Additional retouched images will be billed seperately and payment is due ahead of delivery of those retouched images.
-
What do you retouch/photoshop?Your headshot should look like you on a really good day so, when retouching your images, I remove any temporary blemishes including spots. I do not, however, remove anything that is a permanent part of you such as scars, hairline etc. This ensures your headshots are an accurate representation of who you are and will get you seen for the right roles. Please note that I don't deliver unretouched images.
-
Can I have unretouched images?I don't deliver unretouched images. I will, however, keep you images on file for 3 months after your shoot should you wish to order further shots. I can keep them for longer - just let me know.
-
When are you available?I take bookings one month in advance and all shoots take place during weekdays and daylight hours. You can choose either 10am - 1pm or 2pm - 5pm. Use the contact form at the bottom of this page or send me an email at tom@graceportraits.london with the following information: Name. Spotlight link (or any other casting directory profile). Any specific requirements. Look forward to hearing from you! Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
-
What should I wear/bring?Good staple items to bring: Hair brush/combs/ties that you normally wear. Spectacles if you regularly wear them for performances and auditions. Anything worn below the waist can be (largely) whatever you want - I shoot exclusively from the chest up (the clue is in the name 'headshot'). Plain colour clothes are best as tops that are too 'busy' will draw attention away from your face and eyes. Has anyone ever asked you where you got that top from? Leave it at home. Bring a selection of necklines, materials, tones on the day. We'll have a look through your choices and pick which ones will work best and you'll be free to change as often as you like if you think that something isn't working. Bringing a couple of jumpers/warmer layers is often a good idea. The heating works fine, they can just provide a nice look sometimes.
-
What should I do with my hair and makeup?Prepare as if you were coming to a casting, generally keeping things simple, but bring options to play with during the shoot.
-
What if I can no longer make my shoot?Stuff happens. If you find that you can no longer make your session, let me know as soon as you can as it may be possible to move your shoot to a different time or date. Please note that the deposits are non-refundable.
